I thoroughly enjoyed your tape on MCing – UP FRONT IN CONTROL. I listened to it earlier today and I liked the style – sometimes a taped conversation can seem very contrived and scripted, but you and Ron just seemed to flow and be having a good time. Great listening and great content too.

I have just finished reading Pete Miller and Ron Tacchi's 'UP FRONT AND IN CONTROL' for the third time. As an emcee who thought he had done it all, I realised after reading this informative and easy to read 'How-to' publication, that I hadn't even scratched the surface. UP FRONT AND IN CONTROL communicates the how, when, where and why of professional emceeing and compereing in an easy to read and relevant format. I can't live without it!

Having been in Toastmaster's for almost 10 years, I had a reasonably good idea of what is expected when MCing in public. However your book provided an invaluable guide for providing a robust framework to fulfil any MC’ing role.

After over 10 years being a Master of Ceremonies at many special events, award nights, your words of wisdom, rang so true. Reading through them was the first real chance I’d had to actually study what I do properly and to revise what I’ve been doing, making some significant changes – so a big thank you for this. I tell you Peter the other good thing is your simple clear writing style that makes it easy to flick back and revise particular segments. These books have become permanent travel companions because it’s all so true!!

Wow! Gentlemen, you really proved you know your industry inside-out and back-the-front when you wrote UP FRONT IN CONTROL. There is a relevant message tip technique in every single line of the book – not only for MCs but also for every aspiring and professional speaker, trainer, and presenter. I know I shall refer to it before every gig to refresh and re-focus.

Before Peter Miller had written this book there was no definitive resource on performing as a professional master of ceremonies. You could get bits and pieces from a variety of sources but that’s too much work. I came across UP FRONT IN CONTROL and it was a huge AHA! For me and it has helped me expand my portfolio to include emcee services as well as keynote speaking. For speakers looking to diversify themselves this is a tremendous investment!
